When Mineral-Loy was established over 50 years ago, the focus was on the welding electrode industry, however the company soon widened its scope of activities to the iron foundry, steel making and ceramic industries. From FY24, the company has aggressively expanded its product range to cover some of the raw material requirements of the aluminium foundry industry. Products which are made and sold in South Africa today include several grades of ferro-chrome, chromite sand, medium and high carbon ferro-manganese, silico manganese, and ferro silicon.
