Nkululeko L Sowazi

Non-Executive Board Member

Nkululeko has over 20 years of senior executive experience in management and leadership positions and has had extensive exposure serving on listed and unlisted company boards, particularly with owner-managed teams.

He has served on Audit, Remuneration and Nominations committees whilst on the boards of numerous listed companies such as Aveng Group Ltd, 
Exxaro Resources and currently Grindrod Group Ltd.

Nkululeko is a non-executive Director of the MTN Group and serves of various companies in MTN Group. He is a Director of various companies in the Actom Group, he serves as a Chairman of Home Loan Guarantee Company NP and Housing for HIV, Kagiso Tiso Holdings, Tiso Investments Holdings.

A non-executive Director of Idwala Industrial Holdings, Grindrod Ltd, Vanguard Group Ltd, TIH Africa Ltd, SAI Holdings Ltd, Tiso Blackstar Group and Mobius Motors Ltd.

Albertinah Kekana

Albertinah is currently the CEO of Royal Bafokeng Holdings. She was previously the Chief Operating Officer of the Public Investment Corporation and has extensive asset management, investment banking and business leadership experience. Albertinah has extensive asset management, investment banking and business leadership experience. Albertinah has served on the board of RMB Holdings Ltd., Rand Merchant Bank Holdings, Development Bank of Southern Africa Ltd. and Rand Merchant Investment Holdings Ltd.

David Adomakoh

Non-Executive Board Member

David is co-chairman of Tiso Investment Holdings, a co-founder of the Tiso Group and served as its group managing director. He is a former director of Chase Manhattan, London; head of the Chase Manhattan Bank, Southern Africa; executive director of Robert Fleming South Africa; and head of Africa Corporate Finance at JP Morgan.

He currently serves as a non-executive director of KTH, and chairman of its Investment Committee. He also serves as a non-executive director of Nedbank and Nedbank Group Limited.

His experience spans 25 years in executive management and investment banking, and includes principal investing, corporate and project finance advisory work, debt capital raising, and financial derivatives in a number of countries predominantly in Africa and Europe.

He previously served on the boards of a number of South African, Nigerian and Ghanaian companies. He is a founder trustee of the Tiso Foundation, 
and a World Fellow of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

Lufuno Makhari

Managing Director

Lufuno began his investment banking experience with Nedbank Capital in 2009. Following his time on Nedbank’s Global Commodity Finance desk, Lufuno joined Phembani Group’s investment team, led by Phuthuma Nhleko, where he was involved in originating, negotiating, implementing and post investment managing transactions across a wide range of sectors.

In 2016 Lufuno co-founded RELA Alternative Investments, a closed-end passively managed investment firm with investments in the downstream petroleum sector via the PetroLu Group.

In 2018 Lufuno co-founded Chase & Willow Capital and took on the executive role of Managing Director.

Lufuno also serves as a non-executive director of Independent Alternatives, a specialist asset manager with offerings in domestic hedge funds and long-only funds. Lufuno previously served on the boards of TBWA, Afric Oil and Genesis Employee Benefit Solutions, amongst others.

Mervin Muller

Managing Director

After completing his audit articles, Mervin joined the Public Investment Corporation (“PIC”) in January 2008, where he led the formation of the PIC Monitoring and Workout Division, covering primarily PE and project finance investments.

In his last role as Executive Head of Private Equity and Structured Investment Products (“SIPs”) of the PIC, Mervin was responsible for investment execution and management of the Private Equity and SIPs portfolio. In this portfolio Mr. Muller was responsible for approximately $15 billion of assets under management.

In 2018 Mervin co-founded Chase & Willow Capital and took on the executive role of Managing Director.

Mervin is a non-executive director of Bayport Management Ltd and in the past served on the boards of Libstar Consumer Holdings, Afgri, AfriSam, Medipost, Doves Funerals and Menlyn Maine Investment Holdings.
